New Life

During the Summer of 2013 I was lucky enough to be selected to volunteer for three months in Ethiopia with International Citizen Service working as a primary school teacher. Although apprehensive, as this was my first time abroad, I was excited to try and contribute to something bigger than myself. After just a few weeks, it was apparent this experience would shape my life and help mould me into the person I am today.

Africa is vast with over one billion people, thousands of languages and many traditions. Yet the continent is represented in a negative light through sensationalist media and negative symbolism.
